Biodiversity Foundation is the official agency of the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, aimed at the protection and conservation of the natural heritage and biodiversity. They work on the implementation of conservation big projects and also channelling aids and funds -many Europeans- for develop projects in other organizations, such as NGOs, research institutions or universities.
“RedEmprendeverde” is a support network for Green Entrepreneurs, with more than 7.500 members interested in taking advantage of economic opportunities related to environmental protection. This network has received the 2015 European Award for Business Promotion, in the category of “Support for the development of green markets and resource efficiency”.
Green Business is a free resource efficiency service for SMEs in Ireland, funded by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to deliver substantive resource efficiency improvements and cost savings. Businesses can request a free site visit and assessments are undertaken by professional environmental consultants, producing a report is with recommendations for resource efficiency savings.
Origin Green charter is a guideline document to the workings of the Origin Green programme. It is the only sustainability programme in the world that operates on a national scale, uniting government, private sector and food producers through Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board. Independently verified, it enables Ireland’s farmers and producers to set and achieve measurable sustainability targets: reducing environmental impact, serving local communities more effectively and protecting the rich natural resources.
The Irish Environmental Network (IEN) is made up of 33 Irish Environmental NGOs. The groups represent abroad range of environmental issues including everything from wildlife conservation to climate change. As a network, IEN is greater than the sum of its parts, with synergies developing from working together and sharing knowledge, skills, strengths and experience. The Network acts to secure core and other funding for its activities. The IEN is supported by the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government and is an associated member of the European Environmental Bureau.
The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) is Ireland’s national energy authority. SEAI aims to provide well-timed and informed advice to Government, and deliver a range of programmes efficiently and effectively, while engaging and motivating a wide range of stakeholders and showing continuing flexibility and innovation in all activities. Green Foundation Ireland (GFI) is an independent organisation orientated towards an ecological and sustainable vision of society. GFI are affiliated to the Green European Foundation (GEF). GFI aims create understanding of how climate change and environmental degradation impacts on people’s lives, both in Ireland and Europe and engage with people and communities interested in a sustainable future through seminars; projects; publications and videos. GFI work with partners to create a community projects that are practical and effective.
Bionomia – Okorulez is a program of the KOVET Association for Sustainable Economies. KÖVET Association for Sustainable Economies, established in October 1995, is an association to promote environmentally aware business management towards enterprises. The main activity of KÖVET is to promote preventive environmental solutions, and ensure information exchange primarily in the business sector. In 2013 they held a roadshow in 5 universities about sustainability and green entrepreneurship for companies and university students who are the business leaders of the future. This project aims greening of small businesses with VET trainings and auditing by the Survivenviro Nonprofit Ltd. The experts help companies from green procurement to cooperation with consumers. On the website we can fin news and videos on the achievements of the program.
KÖVET Association for Sustainable Economies, is an association to promote environmentally aware business management towards enterprises. Its main activity is to promote preventive environmental solutions, and ensure information exchange primarily in the business sector. The organization acts as a platform for ongoing information exchange to find new ways for industry to reduce its environmental impacts and to help to use this as a basis for a competitive advantage. KÖVET operates working groups when company professionals can meet and talk to each other about ongoing trends and changes in the field of green and responsible enterprises.
The Association of Environmental Enterprises (KSZGYSZ) is a non-profit organization, a professional business federation of the environmental industry. Its aim is to expand the information flow toward the environmental companies. Founded by 26 members in 1992 now it has about 250 members covering all environmental sectors like waste, water, clean air, soil remediation and noise reduction as well. The regular members are environmental service companies, consulting firms, engineering offices, producers of environmental products. Associated members can be research institutes and educational institutes, the supporting members are the producer or polluter companies, which search contacts to environmental companies. They organize conferences and provide professional support for environmentally engaged companies.
Energiaklub aim is to make energy producers, users and perhaps even political decision-makers regard energy in a different way with research, training courses, and wide-reaching communication. They provide services for companies to reduce their energy consumption, they lobby activity is for better and energy-aware public investments. On the website we can find description of their projects and their services like training and consultancy. On the “resources” part we can find videos and studies about greening and sustainability.
This cluster is a kind of umbrella organisation, which aims to promote liaison between stakeholders, interested in electric mobility in Hungary. The work of the cluster is far-reaching: they are involved in e-mobility incentive programs and in the workout of legal framework; discovery of infrastructure, automotive industry and energy sector and also in education. They newest project is to launch and change all traditional garbage trucks into electronic vehicle.
Hungarian Orienteering Federation is highly committed in ‘green’ projects and sustainability. The steering committee of the federation launched three different programs connecting to environmental protection and sustainability. Their first project was the selective waste collection with more than 1.000 participants. The second project was a car-sharing program, aiming to reduce the number of cars used to and from the competition venues. The third project is for sustainability: after competition, according to the rules, refreshment is compulsory. But drinks couldn’t be served in pet bottles, only in respective, registered bottles. The slogan for the activities is: “Let’s make the green sport even more greener’”.
Green Rocket is a crowdfunding platform that is specialized in companies that focus on energy, environment, mobility and healthcare. Everybody that is interested can invest into sustainable business ideas, also with small amounts.
The “Klima- und Energiefonds” (Climate and Energy Fund) is based on Austrian’s Climate and Energy Fond Act and supports ideas, concepts and projects related to climate and sustainable energy technologies.
Greenstart is a start-up initiative of Austrian’s “Klima- und Energiefond” (Climate and Energy Fund), created to find, develop and support green business ideas in the areas of energy efficiency, sustainably energies, mobility and agriculture by the means of workshops, coaching and financial support. Furthermore the best ideas are honoured with the Greenstart Award.
Companies – especially in tourism – and schools that are honoured with the “Österreichische Umweltzeichen” (Austrian eco-labelling) display environmental friendliness, resource-saving handling with energy and green entrepreneurship.
